Dr. Sahilys Fuentes specializes in treating people with autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal conditions and women’s health concerns like polycystic ovarian syndrome, menopause, hormonal imbalances, preconception care, etc. However, after having her son, she developed a passion for keeping the whole family healthy and strives to help every member of the family. Before diving into further details about her practice style, here are a few facts about her.

Dr. Fuentes’ voyage to becoming a naturopathic doctor started as a very observant and thoughtful child. At the impressionable age of seven, she watched her father develop rheumatoid arthritis. This debilitating disease caused her father to go from the dad who would always jump with her on the trampoline to the dad who could only watch her from a side, due to his chronic joint pain. His journey has been quite a whirlwind, but through it she was able to observe how naturopathic medicine was so beneficial to him.

Her mother, a two time breast cancer survivor and several family members carry the BRCA1 mutation which predisposes them to developing certain cancers, most commonly breast and ovarian cancer. Growing up and observing the challenges her family faced. This inspired her to pursue a career in medicine early on in life.

Through prayer and meditation she became aware of Bastyr University, where she spent 5 years earning a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. After a total of 9 years of undergraduate and graduate schooling, she is now a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor ready to help you. She is a member of the The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), Naturopathic Medicine Institute (NMI), Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP), Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), and the National Association of Environmental Medicine (NAEM).

Through her schooling she scouted out mentors and attended conferences with a focus on understanding how our internal and external environment, gastrointestinal system, chronic infections and toxicity play a role in the manifestation of diseases.

Working with patients is a great passion of hers. Hearing each person’s story and being able to explain, educate and provide specially crafted individualized treatment plans for each person is what she strives to provide. Her goal is to help her patients along their healing journeys feel heard and truly cared.
